New logo, Same Values

After 100 years of community service
we changed our visual identity

As the association celebrated its centenary, and with the development of its vision and roles to include supporting the disabled and strengthening their rights in education, health and community participation, the change in the visual identity came to reflect this transformation.

Our journey

Why Did We Choose the Narcissus as Our Emblem?

The narcissus is a profoundly feminine symbol, representing care, giving, and the association’s pivotal role in empowering women and creating positive change in society.
Our new emblem encapsulates all these meanings, reflecting our vision for a future built on fairness and justice.

The wild narcissus, or rungus as it is known in Ramallah, embodies the core values upheld by the Annahda Women’s Association and reflects its enduring legacy across generations. Our choice of this flower was not random but deeply symbolic, resonating with our identity and vision.

Its natural beauty and simplicity represent our vision of improving quality of life and providing psychological and social support to those we serve while preserving their dignity. The narcissus also signifies hope and growth, reflecting our ability to foster nurturing environments that help children and women achieve their full potential.

Additionally, this flower symbolizes self-expression. Its elegance and softness capture the association’s role in empowering individuals with disabilities to voice their needs and build better communication. The narcissus also conveys continuity and steadfastness, blooming year after year, just as the association remains committed to supporting Palestinian women and children through the decades.

Our symbol for over 100 years

The old logo of the Annahda Women’s Association in Ramallah reflects a traditional character and symbolizes a long history of feminist and community work. At its center is an image of women engaged in educational and social activities, embodying the goals of empowering women and serving the community. The circular frame represents continuity and inclusivity in humanitarian and social efforts.

The logo encapsulates the values and principles upon which the association was founded in 1925. It features symbols that represent its mission during that era, most notably the image of a woman holding a torch—a symbol of knowledge, enlightenment, and progress—emphasizing the association’s role in empowering women through education and the dissemination of knowledge to enable them to become leaders in their communities. Another notable element is a seated woman holding a child, symbolizing motherhood and care, which highlights the association’s efforts to support mothers and enhance the well-being of children.

The overall design, incorporating traditional elements such as an enclosed environment, reflected the challenges women faced at the time while also underscoring the association’s commitment to opening doors of opportunity for them.

The old logo embodied values of empowerment, education, and care, focusing on uplifting women within a constrained societal context, making it a powerful symbol of the association’s mission during that period.

As the association’s role expanded to include advocating for the rights of people with disabilities, as well as promoting education and healthcare, the need for a new logo emerged—one that reflects its comprehensive vision and the progress it has achieved over the years.
