Al Nahda Association in lines
The Annahda Women’s Association has a rich history rooted in generosity and service, dedicated to supporting the Palestinian community in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate. Established in 1924 through the initiative of women from the city of Ramallah, the association was officially registered as a non-profit charitable organization on January 1, 1925. Its mission has always been to serve women, children, and people with disabilities, continuously striving to provide support and care for these groups through its various developmental programs and projects.

About the association
The Annahda Women’s Association has a rich history rooted in generosity and service, dedicated to supporting the Palestinian community in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate. Established in 1924 through the initiative of women from the city of Ramallah, the association was officially registered as a non-profit charitable organization on January 1, 1925. Its mission has always been to serve women, children, and people with disabilities, continuously striving to provide support and care for these groups through its various developmental programs and projects.
Since its establishment, the association has undergone significant transformations, shaped by the political, social, and economic contexts experienced by the Palestinian people from the 1920s to the present day. These changes have defined the institution’s current identity and essence, as well as its future direction in serving people with disabilities and their families across the country.

Our Mission
A dignified life for people with disabilities
People with disabilities to enjoy the rights that guarantee a decent life and fulfill their active participation within their families and communities, based on equity and equality.
Our Vision
The values of participation, transparency, integrity, accountability, respect and volunteerism are our foundation and govern our actions.
Our Message
Educational, social, vocational and occupational rehabilitation of people with disabilities in Ramallah and Al Bireh Governorate are enhanced.

Our Values
The association’s leadership, management and staff are based on a set of core values that inspire and guide policies and decisions. The association is committed to the values of volunteerism, respect, accountability, integrity, transparency and participation, and works to apply them in its positions, actions and performance.
Participation
We will continue our communication and consultation with all relevant stakeholders in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate, including governmental and civil society institutions, as well as funders involved with women, children, and persons with disabilities. We aim to benefit from their expertise, lessons learned, and information exchange while expanding feedback mechanisms. Additionally, the association is committed to involving beneficiaries and/or their families in decision-making processes. At the institutional level, we believe in the active participation of employees in decision-making, valuing their insights, experiences, and perspectives.
Transparency
The association believes in the importance of clarity, accessibility, and transparency in all its activities. This includes clear communication with persons with disabilities, their families, and the local community, particularly regarding service procedures and institutional policies. The leadership is committed to regularly disseminating relevant information to the public and employees. Additionally, the association insists on conducting its work with open communication, ensuring timely and accessible interactions with beneficiaries, institutions, and the wider community.
Integrity
The association’s leadership and staff are committed to honesty, integrity, and dedication in their work, ensuring trustworthiness and adherence to core values. Decisions and evaluations will be guided by these principles, prioritizing the public interest and target groups. Transparency and open communication will be encouraged among team members, beneficiaries, and partner institutions, fostering an environment of trust and accountability.
Accountability
The association ensures accountability through reporting mechanisms for financial, human, and material resource allocation. It regularly reviews strategic directions to achieve its vision and holds its board of directors responsible for all decisions, policies, and the realization of the organization’s goals and outcomes.
Respect
We acknowledge and value the contributions of persons with disabilities, their families, community leaders, and employees, considering their motivations and feelings with sensitivity. We are committed to treating all individuals with dignity, tolerance, and care. As leadership, management, and staff, we act with humility towards others and strive to be responsive to their needs.
Volunteerism
We embrace and encourage the spirit of volunteerism by dedicating time, effort, and material resources from board members, community representatives, institutions, and employees to support the organization and the needs of persons with disabilities. We believe in the importance of mobilizing young individuals from the local community to serve persons with disabilities without financial compensation.
